ABSTRACT

Primary torsion of the greater omentum is a rare cause of acute abdomen in adults children. It is often misdiagnosed as acute appendicitis or acute cholecystitis. We report a case of male acute abdomen presenting typically with symptoms and signs of acute appendicitis. At laparotomy omental torsion was diagnosed. We discuss the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to this entity.
