ABSTRACT
Isolated cecal necrosis is a rare clinical entity and especially in association with shock. The patient usually presents to the emergency department with right lower quadrant abdominal pain and clinical findings may confuse with acute appendicitis. Isolated cecal necrosis should be kept in mind for the differential diagnosis of acute pain in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen. Patients with isolated cecal necrosis have a good prognosis with early diagnosis and surgical treatment.
We report two cases of isolated cecal necrosis mimicking acute appendicitis.
