ABSTRACT

Acute appendicitis occurs frequently and is a major indication for urgent abdominal surgery. Subhepatic appendicitis has rarely been reported and is more difficult to diagnose. Subhepatic appendicitis was first described in 1955 by King, and includes a case of delayed diagnosis leading to perforation. Appendicitis should be considered when characteristic signs and symptoms are present, even if the location of abdominal pain is atypical. The aim of is to note that subhepatic appendicitis may present with various clinical symptoms and findings, and delay in treatment may cause complications.
