ABSTRACT

The isolated metastasis of colorectal cancer in the atypical localization can be seen at the time of diagnosis or at postoperative follow-up period. A rapidly growing mass at the site of ileostomy closure with suspicious MRI and PET-CT features was detected in a patient who underwent a low anterior resection and diverting loop ileostomy. The pathological examination of the biopsy was reorted as adenocarcinoma infiltration. Resection of the mass with appropriate surgical margins was performed for this isolated anterior abdominal wall metastasis. We aimed to emphasize that isolated metastases of colorectal cancer can be seen, detection of a mass in an atypical localization at follow up must be evaluated carefully.
