ABSTRACT
Purpose:
There are so many disorders which causes acute abdominal pain. The purpose of this study is to show that a lipoma which originates from the submucosa of the colon can cause a colo-colic invagination and acute abdominal pain.
Case:
A twenty-two-year old man admitted to the hospital with acute abdominal pain. The patient was diagnosed as ileus with physical examination and labarotory investigation, then operated. Operative finding was; a pedunculeted lipoma which originates from sub-mucosa of the transverse colon has created this condition. Partial transverse colon resection and colo-colostomy operation was done.
Conclusions:
It should always be remembered that a big pedunculeted colonic lipoma can cause colo-colic invagination and acute abdominal pain.
