ABSTRACT
Gallstone ileus is a rare disease and accounts for 1%-4% of all mechanical intestinal obstruction causes. It usually occurs in the elderly population with a female predominance and may result in a high mortality rate. Even though its diagnosis is difficult, early diagnosis may reduce the mortality and morbidity. We report a case where a 78 years old female patient who had abdominal pain and vomiting for 3 days had a preoperative diagnosis of gallstone ileus.
