INTRODUCTION:

Anal stenosis is a condition causing severe discomfort, pain and disability in the patient, which has emphasized significance due to its preventability. All pathologies causing scar formation in the anoderm can result in anal stenosis. Our aim in this study is to present the results of the patients that we operated due to anal stenosis.

METHODS:

The charactheristics and treatment results of the 17 patients operated for anal stenosis in our clinic between the years 2000 and 2012 were recorded retrospectively.

RESULTS:

The etiology of anal stenosis was that it arised after hemoroidectomy in 15 (%88.2) cases, fissurectomy in one case (%5.9) and condiloma acuminado in one case (%5.9).

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION:

Protection is the easiest and most efficient way of fighting anal stenosis. So all surgery of the perianal region, especially hemoroidectomy must be done in accordance with the rules. We observed that the clinical condition of the patient, the severity of stenosis and the experience of the surgeon along with the application of flap procedures give better results.
