An unusual case: Retrorectal endometriosis

Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. It generally covers the peritoneal surface of pelvis. Retrorectal tumors are frequently congenital and are seen rarely. In lesions caudal to 4th sacral vertebral body a posterior approach is recommended. Endometriosis, should also be considered for the distinguishing diagnosis of uncommon case of retrorectal masses.
